about

Into the Darkest Blue is a song written by Billy Roues around the time The Broadcasters were entering their death spiral. It was part of the repertoire that The Roues Brothers played starting in 1990. Live recordings surfaced that inspired the band to start doing it again. This was true of several songs in the quasi album we call Keep Pushing Buttons Til' Something Happens. This will be the 7th and final release for this album. Our future releases will hopefully be in EP's or full length Albums rather than 1 song per month.
We hope you've enjoyed this group of songs and value any feedback you give us on our work.
Thanks for listening!

lyrics

Into the Darkest Blue

Winter cold and the snow falls down
I hear songs with a December sound
The choir sings and the bells ring too
Voices fade into the darkest blue

I woke this morning to lift my head
A subway seat is a lonely bed
A cup of coffee ah there’s nothing new
I think of things in the darkest blue

We rode together in the summer nights
We made love in the cool twilight
Something was born and slowly grew
It went from red hot to darkest blue

I’m not the kind to live in dreams
Not the kind to fall for Autumn leaves
A certain feeling’s coming over me
Like sinking deep into the depths of the sea

But tell me tell me tell me what am I supposed to do
Drift though the smoke rings that you blew
Fly with the lost battalion’s crew into the darkest blue
